Disco Seller Terms

Draft for review · Last updated October 13, 2026 · Not yet in effect

These Seller Terms apply when you ("host" or "seller"), as a person, Disco Crew or business, sell tickets or take RSVPs for an event on Disco. They add to the Disco Terms of Service and, for businesses, the Business Terms. "Disco" means Disco Technologies Inc.

1. Who can sell tickets

  • You must complete payout setup with our payment processor, Stripe, through a Stripe Connect Express account. Stripe verifies your identity and bank details; Disco never sees your full bank or card information.
  • Disco may require additional review before your first ticketed event and may limit ticketing for new or unverified hosts.
  • You must be at least 18 and authorized to host the event and to sell tickets for it, including permission from the venue if you don't manage it.

2. Fees

  • Disco's fee is 7% of the ticket price plus 99¢ per ticket, card processing included. Nothing else is added.
  • By default the buyer pays the fee on top of your ticket price and you receive your full ticket price. You can choose to absorb the fee instead, in which case it comes out of the ticket price.
  • Free events have no fee.
  • Fees are shown to buyers before they pay. We'll give notice before changing fees; changes don't affect tickets already sold.

3. Payouts

  • Ticket proceeds are paid to your Stripe Connect account. Disco never holds your ticket funds beyond its fee.
  • Payouts may be delayed or held in reserve for events that could be cancelled (for example weather-dependent events) until the event takes place, so refunds can be paid if needed.
  • You're responsible for keeping your payout details current and resolving any verification requests from Stripe.

4. Your event and listing

  • Your event details (name, date, time, place, price, what's included) must be accurate. Material changes after tickets are sold notify attendees.
  • Ticket prices can't be changed after tickets are sold.
  • Events that are illegal, unsafe, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that sell weapons, drugs, tobacco or vape products, or gambling are not allowed. Alcohol-focused events must follow local law, including age checks at the door.
  • Public events can appear in Disco (Plans Discover, the map, your page, search) and your followers may be notified. Unlisted events are reachable only by link.

5. Refunds and cancellations

  • You choose a refund policy for each event: full refund if the event is cancelled, no refunds, or a custom policy you write. It's shown to buyers before they pay.
  • If you cancel an event, all ticket buyers receive a full refund, fees included, regardless of the policy. Refunds come from your proceeds or reserve.
  • Card processing on host-cancelled events. Card networks don't return the processing cost of a refunded charge. When you cancel a ticketed event, you cover the card processing on the refunded orders (currently 2.9% + 30¢ per order), netted from your next payout. Cancellations by Disco for reasons outside your control don't carry this cost.
  • You're responsible for refunds you promise and for disputes caused by your event. Chargebacks attributable to your event, including the payment processor's dispute fee (currently $15 per dispute) when the dispute is lost, may be recovered from future payouts.

6. Taxes, licenses and the law

  • You're responsible for admissions, sales and other taxes on your ticket sales, and for any business, event or admissions licenses your city or state requires (for example, some states require an admissions tax license for anyone charging entry).
  • Stripe may issue tax forms such as Form 1099-K when you cross the applicable federal thresholds. You authorize Disco and Stripe to share the transaction information needed for this reporting.

7. Attendees and their information

  • You see your attendee list (names, RSVP or ticket status, attendance) and the contact details web guests chose to share with hosts. Use them only to run and follow up on your event, keep them secure, and honor opt-outs. Don't sell or share them.
  • Check-in uses Disco tickets and members' check-ins at the venue.

8. Ending ticket sales

We may pause sales, cancel an event and refund buyers, or end your access to ticketing if you break these terms, if there's a safety or fraud concern, or if Stripe restricts your account.

9. Liability

You're responsible for your event, its safety and what you promise attendees. To the extent the law allows, Disco isn't liable for losses from your event and our total liability is limited to the fees Disco earned from your tickets in the 12 months before the claim.
